I ventured over to the east side of the state for this wedding. The temperature was perfect but lighting became a bit of an issue. It was so sunny outside without a cloud in the sky and the church was so dim and seem to swallow my flash...oh how I wished I had had the studio slave running during the ceremony! Not to mention, that area of the state is not the most picturesque. Challenge or not, it was a blast and the photo here by the tree was not intentional but my absolute fave...go figure!!

Ramsey family photos

I photographed a friend of a friend and her family last weekend and had such an awesome time! I can't wait to work with the Ramsey's again once the leaves have turned and colors peak.

Emily & Matt

Last weekend I traveled north of the Macinac to photograph the wedding of Matt and Emily Weeks. The wedding took place on a beach on Whitefish Bay, an inlet of Lake Superior, and the reception was at the casino resort in Bay Mills. I was deeply touched by Emily's relationship with her father and openess of both families...they made me feel right at home. Did I mention I had a chance to check out the Soo Locks while I was there? Even though it was overcast all day; we didn't get rained out and it turned out to be a great day! Take a peek.

Berry wedding

My first wedding of the season was a blast! I had the pleasure of working with Jason from Absolute Photography of Holland; we went to the beach and it was so cold and windy but the they were tough and endured the elements for the sake of the coffee table proofbook.
